While in the state of Washington we took a day trip to the nearby Port of Allyn and visited the Allyn Waterfront Park. There were several people on the beach searching for clams and oysters, and dogs are welcome on the beach and pier as long as they are on a leash. We were lucky enough to hear several sea lions barking and finally realized they were sunning themselves on an anchored boat nearby.
The park has clean restrooms and a long dock to fish off of or walk out to see the sea lions better.
The pier was nice and clean, well kept. There were no fishermen there the day we visited, but it is a public fishing pier.
We counted at least fifteen sea lions on a boat in the water as we stood and watched them move around for nearly an hour.
These are two of the prettiest pigeons I have ever seen. Rich still insists he is not a bird watcher, but he thought they were pretty cool looking too.
Allyn Waterfront Park in Allyn, Washington was a beautiful place to visit and spend a couple of hours enjoying nature. It features a dock, launch ramps, pump out station, playground, restrooms, gazebo for events, restaurants, shopping and more.
